Cairn was so excited that I had picked the brand as the Best Outdoor Subscription box that they decided to sponsor boxes for my review. This is pretty exciting because you all get to see what you can expect every month, but for any new subscriptions you can expect to see one special addition.
The welcome box is going to be different than the rest because you get an additional item as a ‘Welcome Gift’, but it’s still a great representation of what you can expect to see as far as its product assortment.

What’s in the box
BLDG Active Spray
The first item out of the box was this amazing first-aid spray from BLDG Active. This all-natural spray is a great item to add to your supplies, and coincidentally, right after I got this box I had pretty epic fall off of my bike onto some loose gravel.
This spray really came in handy when I needed to clean up my cuts as it utilizes your body’s repair system to heal. Did I feel that my wounds healed any quicker? I didn’t really have a control to compare, so I can’t say for sure, but I did appreciate that it was a more natural solution to put on my wounds.
Here are more of the details from BLDG:
Natural, non-toxic, and non-sensitizing (aka no sting).
Because of this, it is safe to use around the eyes, mouth, ears and sensitive areas, AND it won’t sting.
More than just an antiseptic spray, ACTIVE Skin Repair healing spray works on: minor wounds, cuts, scrapes, sunburns, traditional burns, chafing, rashes, wounds, insect bites and other skin irritations.
ACTIVE Skin Repair’s antibacterial wound spray is a medical grade solution for minor wound care and everyday skin damage.
ACTIVE Skin Repair’s Wound Spray is a doctor-recommended first aid spray featuring HOCl which is natural, non-toxic and supports the body’s healing process.
Revel Gear 30 Ft. Camp Light
Add ambient mood lighting to any campsite, garage, or backyard with the Revel Gear 30 ft. camp light. This was a pretty neat addition because if you camp when it chilly out, sometimes you spend a little more time bundled up in your tent.
Tents have created more aspects to create illumination inside tents with less power, and this camp light would suit that purpose perfectly.
It doesn’t come with a power source, so you need to power it through its USB hub, but it doesn’t use much power either. It features 100 LED lights with 350 Lumens, so it’s going to work well with limited power drain.
It also features multi-levels of brightness to dim as you see fit, and with 30 feet of lighting you can really use this in a handful of ways.
Revel Gear also gives back through its “You share, we share” program that gives lighting solutions to parts of the world that need it most.
30 FT. USB Camping Light
The Trail Hound™ 30ft. 100 LED Dimmable USB Camping Light provides the longest, brightest, and most energy efficient mood lighting for the great outdoors. Whether you’re tent camping or rocking the van life, these dimmable
light strands are a go-to choice for making memories under the stars.
Kate’s Real Food Bar
It took a while to enjoy this item from my box. I wasn’t that hungry when I pulled it out of the package and didn’t want to waste it, but looking at the wrapper I was excited to try it.
Kate’s Real Food is just that; real food. The ingredient list is filled with natural ingredients that will give you the energy to get those extra miles out on the trail, or replenish after a long hike.
The flavor was peanut butter and chocolate and includes these ingredients: Certified Gluten Free Oats*, Honey*, Peanut Butter* (Dry Roasted Peanuts*), Milk Chocolate* (Cane Sugar*, Cacao Beans*, Milk*, Cocoa Butter*, Sunflower Lecithin), Certified Gluten Free Brown Rice Crisps* (Whole Grain Brown Rice Flour*, Honey*, Sea Salt), Dried Apricots* (Apricots*, Rice Flour*), Raisins* (Raisins*, Sunflower Oil*), Sunflower Seeds*, Sesame Seeds*, Sea Salt.
Gregory NANO WAISTPACK MINI
The special welcome item in the Cairn subscription box was this fantastic wasitpack from Gregory.
It can definitely be worn around your waist, but with 1.5 inch straps, this works just as well as a sling pack if you’re on your bike. (How I prefer, makes getting into it much easier).
Gregory is well-known for making some highly-durable packs of all sizes, but for super short hikes, or running errands around town, this pack really covers your bases.
I’ve been using this as my bike pack to hold my wallet and phone, and it has extra pockets for your snacks as well.
